Stunning Mendocino Elopement in Northern California

When I say their day was stunning, I mean STUNNING! Megan and Dallas traveled all the way to Northern California to spend their elopement day surrounded by the lush greenery and dramatic cliff sides of Mendocino, CA.

When they first reached out to me, they were still in the early stages of planning and hadn’t chosen a specific location in Northern California yet. But one thing was clear: they wanted to be near the coast. After some searching, they found the most gorgeous Airbnb, complete with a beautiful garden and its own private redwood grove—an ideal place to adventure and celebrate.

Getting Ready & Details

They chose to get ready together, just the two of them, which was so special. While they finished up their final touches, I set up their picnic in the redwoods. I had the chance to capture them FaceTiming family members, showing off their attire and sharing their excitement before diving into the big day ahead.

The Picnic

The first activity of the day? The picnic we’d been planning together in the weeks leading up to their elopement. Since Megan and Dallas were flying in from out of state, I knew gathering all the supplies might be tricky. So, I offered to take care of the supplies on my end, and all they needed to worry about was bringing the food.

Let me tell you, the picnic we put together was amazing! I left them alone for a while, giving them some space to enjoy their cute little charcuterie board and soak in the moment. After a while, we gathered for some cake cutting and portraits, capturing a few more precious memories.

Ceremony + Vows in the Garden

Next, we moved to the garden for their vow exchange. Megan and Dallas had recorded their vows so their family and friends back home could witness the intimate moment. During these special moments, I like to pull out my zoom lens to offer as much privacy as possible while still documenting all the meaningful details.

Cliffside Portraits

To end their elopement day, we took a short, five-minute drive to Navarro Point, where we wandered along the cliffside. This location is one of my favorite viewpoints in the Mendocino area. Not only does it offer breathtaking views, but it’s also a quiet spot with very few tourists—a true hidden gem.

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect, easygoing day for Megan and Dallas. These are the kinds of elopements that remind me why I love this job so much. I can’t wait to book another couple in this charming little town along the coast.
